.au Geographic Domain Names
The .au Domain authority (AUDA) has announced that thousands of geographic Domain Names such as carlton.com.au, cairns.com.au, and crowsnest.com.au are now available to be registered by Australian Individuals and businesses who fulfil the .au domain name allocation criteria. The names will be allocated by auDA, the industry regulator of .au domain names, using a system of ballots.

Process involved in obtaining a .au geographical domain name
When you have selected your domain name/s for which you wish to make an application please enter them in the box below. You will be required to read and agree to the standard terms and conditions and well as the auda geographic domain names ballot application terms and conditions listed below. For the purposes of this agreement, Primus Telecommunications Pty LTD trading as PlanetDomain is deemed to be a "participating registrar".
- An applicant may make only one application for a geographic domain name and
multiple applications through multiple registrars are not permitted.
- The application period will extend from 1 June to 31 July 2005.
- If there is only one applicant for a geographic domain name the applicant will be awarded a
licence for the domain name after July 31 upon closing of the ballot process.
- If there is more than one applicant for a geographic domain name a
ballot will be held and a winner randomly drawn from the pool of applicants.
- The total cost for the successful ballot winner of a geographic name will be
AUD $999 inc GST which includes a once of AUDA release fee of $825 inc GST.
- For subsequent renewal periods the standard renewal pricing for domain names will apply.
